CSP5 OPENING SESSION

  •  The opening session of the Conference will take place on Monday, 26 August 2019, from 10h00 -11h00 and will be addressed by the following invited dignitaries in the following order:
  •  H.E. Ms. Izumi NAKAMITSU, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs
  • H.E. Ms. Christine HOEBES, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Republic of Namibia
  • Mr. Gilles CARBONNIER, Vice President, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
  • H.E. Mr. Andris PELŠS, Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Latvia
  • H.E. Ms. Fiorella SALAZAR ROJAS, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Costa Rica

THEMATIC DISCUSSON ON GENDER AND GENDER BASED VIOLENCE

2. The thematic discussion on Gender and Gender Based Violence will take the form of a panel discussion involving the following high level speakers:
 
  • 1st Panelist: H.E. Ms. Vaira VĪĶE-FREIBERGA, former President of Latvia.
  • 2nd Panelist: H.E. Ms. Christine HOEBES, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Republic of Namibia.
  • 3rd Panelist: H.E. Ms. Izumi NAKAMITSU, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs.
  • 4th Panelist: Mr. Gilles CARBONNIER, Vice President, International Committee of the Red Cross
  • 5th Panelist: Ms. Annie Matundu MBAMBI, President of Women's League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Ambassador Jānis KĀRKLIŅŠ, the President of Conference, will facilitate the panel discussion.
